A full-circle senior session capturing her calm presence, signature style, and playful spirit

Reliving Olivia's Senior Session: a Journey Years in the Making
I first photographed Olivia three years ago when she was a part of my Society 512 Creative Team as a freshman. Back then, she was just stepping into high school quietly, still discovering herself, and now here she was as a senior — grounded, self-assured, and ready to be in this moment in her own way.
What made Olivia's senior session even more special was the family connection: I had photographed both of her older brothers’ senior portraits, and being trusted with her own senior year was a meaningful continuation of that story.
Olivia’s personality is a little on the reserved side, but strong, and that calm energy translated beautifully in front of the camera. She didn't need big gestures or dramatic movement — her expressions were subtle, thoughtful, and steady.
Her first outfit, which we shot down along the river’s bank, was a white dress paired with bright red cowboy boots, and created a very fashionable, yet So Olivia Look.
We then moved to the butterfly garden at this small bird sanctuary, where she changed into a denim skirt while sticking with the red boots. The winding paths and flower-filled spaces of the garden provided a quiet, reflective backdrop that perfectly highlighted her individuality and calm presence.
As evening approached, we hiked down to the falls along the Pedernales River, where she changed back into her white dress, but instead of boots, she laced up bright red sneakers. Some of my favorite images came during this portion of the session, particularly when I had her lay in one of the dry, ephemeral pools. With the camera positioned directly above, the combination of her calmness, her outfit and the stone textures, created these modern, artistic portraits that felt completely unique.
Photographing Olivia felt less like directing and more like documenting a young woman who has grown and matured right before my eyes. From the butterfly garden to the falls and the ephemeral pools, each image reflected her individuality, thoughtful energy, and quiet joy.
If you’re ready to document your own senior year in a way that feels authentic, playful, and totally "you", let’s plan your session and create a story all your own.
