The Child Portrait Experience
1. Vision & Preparation
To start we’ll have a planning conversation so I can learn personality, interests, and energy level.
We will collaborate on outfits in advance to ensure it complements both the child and the selected location. Clean, cohesive styling allows expression to take center stage. But we’ll also want to consider personalities and creative direction as well.
Sessions are structured to feel very relaxed but directed. Kids respond best when they feel guided, not overly posed.
In fact some of the best images are created when they are allowed to roam and explore.

2. Location & Environment
Austin offers a wide range of natural and architectural environments that photograph beautifully for children’s portraits.
Locations are selected based on age, temperament, and time of year — ensuring space to move while maintaining visual refinement.
3. The Session & Artwork Selection
Sessions are paced intentionally. Breaks are built in when needed, and direction is clear and calm.
After the session, images are lovingly curated and presented at a private ordering appointment where families select their favorite portraits for albums, framed artwork, and heirloom pieces.
The focus is on creating tangible artwork designed to last well beyond childhood.
